Dakota Supply, Wolseley Canada are newest Acadia distributors
Hallowell International announced new distribution partnerships for its Acadia: Combined Heating and Cooling System with Dakota Supply Group and Wolseley Canada. Wolseley Canada serves customers in western and central Canada and Quebec, while Dakota Supply’s territory is North and South Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota and northwest Iowa.
Acadia is a new green technology used for residential and light commercial heating and cooling. It provides a significant cost savings to the consumer by outperforming conventional fossil fuel-based heating systems by up to 300%, according to Hallowell. It is engineered to comfortably heat and cool homes in all weather conditions, even temperatures as cold as minus 30°F.

The SolVelox solar unit by SOLARHOT has earned an Energy Star rating. Under the direction of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, Energy Star promotes the use of energy saving products and services. Qualified products reduce energy usage and carbon emissions, thereby helping the environment and providing cost savings to consumers.
Both drainback and glycol versions of the SolVelox pump package qualified for the certification by meeting the program’s rigorous energy efficiency directives.

William (Bill) Root has been appointed VP and General Manager for Laars Heating Systems Company. He succeeds Angelo Sinisi, who has retired. Root joined Laars in 1998 and soon assumed the title of VP-sales and marketing. Shortly after Bradford White's acquisition of Laars in 2005, Root was instrumental in helping Laars introduce many new commercial and residential boilers as well as volume water heating products and controls. Prior to joining Laars, Charles (Chuck) O'Donnell recently joined Laars as product marketing Manager. O’Donnell has more than 11 years of experience in engineering, applications and marketing management. O’Donnell is helping to develop new product concepts and market strategies for Laars. He interacts routinely with Laars customers while also working with the manufacturer’s sales, engineering, manufacturing, finance, applications and service teams.
Speakman Company appointed Rob Cook its sixth president and first non-family member to lead the company in its 141-year history. Cook comes to Speakman from Vistage International (formerly TEC), a peer-to-peer business leadership organization. As a Vistage Chair covering the Mid-Atlantic States, he led a CEO peer group of small to mid-size companies. Cook will direct the ongoing growth initiatives in Speakman’s heritage businesses in commercial plumbing and residential shower and bath. He will also oversee the company’s new ventures; a direct to consumer e-commerce web-site, www.speakmanshowers.com; a growing Beijing sales office; and a high efficiency air conditioning business, Cooling Solutions.
