Superior Boiler Works delivers state-of-the-art boilers to major, multinational company’s new foods facility
Hutchinson, Kan.- Superior Boiler Works Inc. announced the delivery of three Mohican model, 900-horsepower, four-pass boilers to a major, multinational food manufacturer/processor’s new Midwestern manufacturing facility. The boiler systems represent the latest in technology offerings for maximizing efficiencies, and comprise a successful team approach that included Hughes Machinery Company for overall management and coordination.

At the heart of the new facility’s boiler plant, the three Superior boilers will achieve efficiency goals through optimal heat exchanger design and use of innovative materials, and will utilize improved combustion technology, employing parallel positioning burner controls with an oxygen trim system, all in a compact, space-saving design. The result will be a low-maintenance boiler room, substantially reduced operating costs and reduced consumption of precious natural gas and electrical power resources. Superior delivered the Mohican boilers with a shorter-than-normal lead time, validating the company’s ability to manufacture boilers much more efficiently than current industry norms. The Mohican design delivered is a four-pass wetback Scotch Marine boiler capable of operating at low and high pressures with multiple energy sources.
